IDC names Basware as an accounts payable leader

IDC has named Basware as a leader in its worldwide vendor assessment for SaaS and cloud-enabled accounts payable automation solutions. The IDC MarketScape study evaluates vendors against the criteria that are important for companies when selecting a system.

The IDC MarketScape provides an overview of the suitability of ICT vendors in a certain market. The research methodology comprises a scorecard based on both qualitative and quantitative criteria. This results in a single matrix visualizing the position of each vendor within a particular market.

In the overview of vendors of accounts payable software solutions, the report identifies Basware Network and the ability to integrate Basware Purchase-to-Pay with more than 250 different ERP systems as key strengths that contribute to its position in the ‘leaders’ category.

“Basware is particularly interesting for complex international businesses with multi-ERP environments that want to automate different kinds of invoices,” explains IDC analyst Kevin Permenter. “The integration experience – with not only ERPs but also direct purchasing, SRM, VMS and tax solutions – is invaluable in an era in which software solutions must fit within a broader application landscape.”

Furthermore, the study specifically notes that Basware “provides insight into all spending” and “helps customers to reduce financial and reputational risks”. This underlines Basware’s promise to offer companies 100% spending visibility aided by guaranteed connectivity with suppliers and data gathering.

“As one of the biggest open worldwide networks, we already support suppliers with multiple options so that they can easily transition from paper to digital with the option that works best for them,” says Sami Peltonen, VP P2P Solutions at Basware. “Besides that, we’re continuously innovating by adding even more options into the mix which further reduce the manual work. One example of this is SmartPDF AI, which is a new solution that automatically registers invoice details using artificial intelligence.”
