Expenses - small but unnecessary burden for employees

Declaration management is not really high on the agenda at most companies. And that is remarkable, because this subject leads to recurring frustration among employees. Especially among those who regularly travel and lose time with the declaration of an apparently infinite stream of receipts. For example, because the method contains many manual (and error-prone) tasks. At a time when good staff are hard to find and maintain, companies do well to simplify the process of declaring.

Declaration management is not really high on the agenda at most companies. And that is remarkable, because this subject leads to recurring frustration among employees. For example, because the method contains many manual (and error-prone) tasks. At a time when good staff are hard to find and maintain, companies do well to simplify the process of declaring.

Little insight, no policy on declaration

Peter Derksen, account manager at ICreative, says: 'As a rule, there is little focus on expense management within companies. And that is really a lack in this time because as a company company you want to keep your employees happy. But it can also lead to problems internally: in the case of a defective automated method, an overview of these hidden costs is often lacking. And that also means that it is difficult to make appropriate policy in this area. In my daily practice I notice that people often think that the consequences of not properly adjusting invoices are 'not too bad'. If I then calculate the amount of time in the process of filing, processing and correcting them on the proverbial beer mat, they are startled.

Low hanging fruit

'What I also notice is that people experience it as a barrier to converting a current working method into a good process flow. And that while improving the declaration process is low-hanging fruit. The technique is quick and easy to implement. Employees, for example, use the accompanying app to take a picture of the relevant receipt via their mobile phone. After they have sent this they can continue with tasks that really matter: make declarable hours, for example ', laughs Peter. 'And by assigning the right cost centers in advance, the declaration within the organization automatically ends up in the right place. And the employee? This automatically receives feedback from approval and a message that has been paid. And counting kilometers between A and B? That is no longer necessary, because a smart link with Google Maps automatically registers the correct number of kilometers.

Letting people do what they are good at

'You could compare the convenience of our solution with the apps that health insurers now offer to their clients. The endless entry of numbers and other data is a thing of the past. Or think of the apps for parking, so parking is no longer a hassle with receipts and payment machines. That too is such a solution that makes life a bit easier and saves time. Employees should mainly let you do what they are good at; create value in creative ways for themselves, for colleagues and for customers. And do not tire with delaying things like receipts and administration. Precisely because this work can be taken out of your hands for a very large part.

If you want to pick this low-hanging fruit, please call me!

Sincerely,
